Lourmarin

The most charming village in Provence

Our 2020 Cagibi Retreat will take place in the charming medieval village of Lourmarin, in the south of France. An inspiring location with literary cachet, it was once home to famous writers Albert Camus, Henri Bosco and Peter Mayle, the author of «A year in Provence», a bookseller turned into a movie by Ridley Scott (who, by the way, owns a house in the Luberon!).

Lourmarin is famous for its historical castle, as well as for its stone fountains, open squares, and inviting restaurants and cafes.

The village is a restorative place, ideal to get in touch with your creativity. It’s in the heart of Provence, coveted for its proximity to the beautiful Luberon mountains.

To get to the Luberon area and the village of Lourmarin, you have to fly to the Marseille-Provence Airport. Or, if you prefer to get to France earlier, choosing another airport, you will have to travel to the Aix-en-Provence TGV train station or to fly to Marseille-Provence Airport on Sunday Sept. 27th.

A private transportation will be organized two times that day, to drive you from the train station or the airport to the retreat location in Lourmarin. You can also rent a car if you want to feel free. Renting a car for personal use is entirely up to you depending on what you plan to do before or after the retreat.
